Former pro boxer from Fresno dies

Mac Foster, a former heavyweight boxer from Fresno who fought Muhammad Ali in 1972, died this morning at age 68.
Mr. Foster fought from 1966 to 1976 and was 30-6 as a professional, with all of his victories by knockout.
He lost to Ali in a 15-round decision on April 1, 1972, in Tokyo.

After knowing Mac Foster for a very long time from just meeting about the hood back in the day and going to school with several of his relatives I would like to make this statement. Meeting Mac the first time was really scarry the first time before talking to him because he was so big. After the first time the fear never came back because Mac was a gentle giant. Great fun to talk to and Mac's relatives were all cool.
